Scaling sustainably: Unlocking team potential for the next phase of growth
As a marketing consultant and strengths coach, there is nothing more exciting than collaborating with a business leader who is already incredibly successful but has the vision to say, “What’s next? How do we scale this sustainably?” That is exactly how this journey began with Brooke Bishop, the owner of Bishop Realty. Over the last few years, Brooke has built a top real estate business in Costa Rica’s Occidente region*
She is the go-to lifeline for expats relocating from the US and Canada to this area and other parts of Costa Rica. To launch into the company's exciting next phase of growth, Brooke wanted to do something different. Instead of leading solely with her own strong personal brand, she wanted to bring her amazing team to the forefront, empowering every single agent to build an online personal brand as powerful as her own.
To achieve this, we didn't just look at marketing metrics. We looked at human potential. Here is how we designed and executed a strengths-driven brand transformation for Bishop Realty.
Step 1: The Foundation: Individual Gallup CliftonStrengths
Before you can market your team’s strengths, you have to uncover them. Every member of the Bishop Realty team took the official Gallup CliftonStrengths Assessment.
To ensure the team truly understood their talent profiles, MariMundo conducted customized 1-to-1 prep coaching sessions with each team member.
Together, we explored their Top 10 signature themes and their lesser themes. We spoke about what gives them energy and what drains them, what motivates them, and how they uniquely manage client relationships. This individual clarity was key to preparing them for the collaborative strategic work ahead.
Step 2: The Co-Creation Deep Dive
Great workshops are built on great preparation. Brooke and I spent an afternoon deep-diving into the current state and future goals. MariMundo prepared the individual talents onto the Team CliftonStrengths Grid to analyze the agency’s internal ecosystem with her prior to the workshop.
The grid revealed an incredible truth: the Bishop Realty team is profoundly anchored in the Relationship Building domain, which is no surprise considering their line of work. This collective superpower is exactly why they have been so successful. Relocation isn't just a property transaction; it’s an emotional, logistical lifestyle shift.
Their natural empathy and relationship talents are what allow them to support clients both during the home search and long after the closing date. With the goals set, we designed a workshop meant to anchor their future business growth entirely on this foundation.
Step 3: The Strategy Workshop at El Jardín Sarchí
To bring this strategy to life, we needed an inspiring environment. The team gathered at El Jardín Sarchí. Surrounded by mountain views and Sarchi Arts, this beautiful location provided the perfect, peaceful setting to spark creativity, connect, and map out the future of the company.
We kicked off with Brooke sharing her personal journey and her deep desire to see her agents achieve massive success while serving relocating buyers. From there, we transitioned into an interactive visual exercise. Agents selected photographs that represented their Top 5 signature themes, sharing how those talents directly dictate how they communicate, solve problems, and deliver superior service.
Capturing the team photos
Because personal branding requires photos, we integrated a professional photo shoot right into the workshop day, captured by Danouck Photography.
These aren't just generic headshots; they are fresh, team and individual photos designed to bring their digital business cards to life. These photos will refresh the company website, feed their social media channels, and accompany their future written blogs. ]
Mapping the Future: The Post-It Brainstorm
With everyone understanding each other's strengths and lesser themes, we transitioned into full brainstorming mode. The room turned into a hub of shared ideas. Together, we mapped out the foundational marketing requirements and listed out tons of content ideas. It was so great to see the team actively focusing on content entirely around answering client questions and sharing tips on what this beautiful country and specific areas have to offer.
Team Alignment & Commitments
We closed out the afternoon with a powerful exercise of alignment and trust. Each team member shared:
The exact value and unique talents they bring to the collective team are based on their experience, interests, and strengths.
What specific support, tools, or communication do they need from Brooke and their peers to be fully successful in this next phase?
This final session beautifully highlighted the team’s immense relationship-building capability, ensuring that everyone walked out completely aligned, supported, and ready to execute.
Step 4: The Deliverable: A 6-Month Strategic Roadmap
A great workshop shouldn’t just leave a team feeling inspired; it must leave them with an actionable plan. Following our collaborative brainstorming sessions, MariMundo delivered a comprehensive 6-Month Strategic Roadmap divided into three distinct pillars:
Team Communication & Roles: Clear alignment on who does what regarding marketing, maximizing individual strengths to optimize business workflows.
Foundational Brand Projects: Overhauling the website user experience, updating bio pages with strengths-based copy, separating agents into individual digital profiles, and establishing a corporate LinkedIn presence.
The Content Topic Roadmap: A prioritized catalog of high-value video and blog topics addressing real client pain points, ranging from an Escrow Explained pilot video project to cost-of-living breakdowns and local district spotlights.
Moving forward, the team's written blogs will be directly linked to individual agent profiles, giving them immediate authority and searchable expertise online.
In her own words: Brooke’s take on this experience
"Working with MariMundo completely unlocked a new level of communication and strategic clarity for our team. Mariette uniquely bridges the gap between deep team strengths and actionable marketing execution. By understanding our collective CliftonStrengths, the team walked away not just inspired, but equipped with a clear roadmap to confidently own their personal brands under the Bishop Realty umbrella." Brooke Bishop, Owner of Bishop Realty
The MariMundo Takeaway
By focusing its marketing strategy on the collective authority Bishop Realty holds as a relocation and post-sale integration lifeline, this team is uniquely positioned for its next phase of growth. This project beautifully demonstrated what happens when you move beyond generic marketing and instead look through a strengths-based lens.
By creating a deep understanding of the Team CliftonStrengths Grid, the team discovered exactly how their natural Relationship Building domain serves as the engine for client success. Through open, transparent communication, every single team member articulated precisely what they bring to the table and what they need from Brooke and each other to thrive.
Combined with a vibrant, brand-new team photos and a structured, actionable 6-month content roadmap, Bishop Realty isn’t just guessing their next steps; they are executing them with total alignment and intent. When you align a company's strategic vision with the natural human talents of its people, business growth ceases to be a forced metric and becomes an organic byproduct of doing exactly what you love.
Watch this space: Bishop Realty’s next phase of growth is officially underway, and it is moving forward with incredible, strengths-driven momentum!
